SHARADH RAMASWAMY

Brief Biography

I was born and raised in the once sleepy, now booming, little town of Madras, in the province of Tamil Nadu, India where I received schooling at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan. I later studied at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where I received B.Tech and M.Tech degress in Electrical Engineering. I am currently pursuing a PhD in signal processing in the ECE Department of the University of California, Santa Barbara. I work with Prof. Kenneth Rose in the Signal Compression Laboratory.

Research Interests

Quantizer design and applications of source coding in databases (main research page)
Data-mining algorithms
Signal processing for sensor networks
