Asymptotic closed-loop design (ACL)
Design:
- Step 1: Apply some initial PVQ to the training sequence of frames to obtain a reconstructed sequence, with the corresponding sequences of next-frame prediction, and prediction error
- Step 2: Design an optimal VQ for the given (fixed) sequence of prediction errors
Notes:
We propose a stable solution to the design of predictive quantizers. In what we call the asymptotic closed-loop design, we propose to break the feedback that causes the instability. In step 1, we generate an initial set of reconstructed sequence of frames using say the open-loop approach.
